December 1 - Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Today in class we will be watching Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee and writing responses to various prompts throughout the film.  This is a very powerful film!  It illustrates the conflict and demise of the Native American conflicts in the late 19th century.  You know how I feel about the events that surrounded the Native Americans, so I hope that you enjoy and feel like you learn something today!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objectives:
  1. View and discuss the plight of the American Indians and the U.S. policy towards this group during the late 1800s
Agenda:
  1. View: Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee
    1. Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee Guided Notes
Homework:
  1. Chapter 18 Quiz on Monday
  2. Second Research Paper due Monday December 4!
  3. Outside Reading Project due Friday December 8!
That's all for today ladies and gentlemen!  I hope that you enjoyed the film, and also learned why it is important to be informed about the peoples of our nation.  I hope you have a great weekend!  Football plays for the CCS Championship this weekend so come out and support us if you can!

Live long and prosper,

Mr. Marchetti
