February 14 - Intro Unit 8 and Start Atomic Cafe

Hello ladies and gentlemen!

Welcome and great to see you all!  Happy Valentine's Day to all of you beautiful people!  Today in class we will be previewing the content of our new unit.  This is another big unit for the semester covering the Cold War!  This is a pretty complex topic that impacts all levels of American society so we will do our best to examine all of those levels!  We will also be starting a documentary, Atomic Cafe, that is a fascinating look at how the invention of Atomic weapons impacted America in the 40s and 50s.  I love this stuff so hope to have some fun discussions with you all!  Let's do this!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objective:
  1. View a documentary in order to understand the context of the Cold War
Agenda:
  1. Warm-Up #1
  2. Introduce Unit 8
  3. Start Atomic Cafe
Homework:
  1. Chapter 25 Quiz Friday
  2. Outside Reading Project due March 23
  3. Fourth Annotated Bibliography due March 26
  4. APUSH Exam May 11
That's all for today folks!  I hope you enjoyed the documentary (we will finish on Friday)!  I can't wait to see you all again on Friday!  We only have one more day together before the break!  Huzzah!  Take care and have a great evening!

Live long and prosper,

Mr. Marchetti
