October 10

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

And welcome back!  Oh wow it is so good to see you all today!  I hope that you were able to rest and not worry about school for nine days.  I was able to get some rest in, unfortunately that meant I wasn't as productive as I wanted to be.  That's ok though!  Time to get back to it!  So today we are going to briefly discuss our semester reading project (which has been posted on the side of this blog since the first day of school, but this will be our first chance to actually talk about it).  After we talk about the Outside Reading Project, you will have time to work on your 19th century reform poster.  I'm excited to jump right back into our discussions of U.S. History!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objectives:
  1. Create and original political cartoon/propaganda poster about one of the 19th century reform movements
Agenda:
  1. Intro: Outside Reading Project
    1. Choose a book from the list provided
      1. APUSH Outside Reading List
      2. Subject must be pre-20th century (16th-19th century)
      3. May choose an alternative NON-FICTION history book (not from the list) if you get MY approval first
    2. Read a minimum of 100 pages
    3. Complete the Outside Reading Project Form.
      1. Must be typed!
      2. Answers must be extensive, thoughtful, and demonstrate that you have in fact read the book!
    4. DUE DECEMBER 9
  2. Finish: Political Cartoon/Propaganda Poster
Homework:
  1. Finish your poster/political cartoon
  2. Chapter 9 Quiz on FRIDAY
That's all for today ladies and gentlemen!  It was so good to see you all today and I hope that you are rested and ready to go for the rest of our semester before the December Break!  Hope you all have a fantastic evening and I look forward to seeing you all again soon!

Live long and prosper,

Mr. Marchetti
