March 8

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Today in class we will begin discussing the Civil Rights Movement and specifically the Montgomery Bus Boycott.  The Civil Rights movement is one of the most important times in modern American History.  You will be working in small groups to research different elements of the early Civil Rights movement.  This is a complex social movement and deserves some extra attention on your part.  Excited to work with you all today!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objectives:
  1. Thematically group events of the Civil Rights Era through class discussion
  2. Read and discuss the various accounts of the Montgomery Bus Boycott and determine why it was successful
