September 13 - 1775 Board Game

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Today in class we will be playing the 177 Rebellion Board Game!  I am so excited!  I love board games, military strategy, and history so much and this brings all of that together!  Also I hope that this is a nice break from the grind of hard academic work we do.  I know that things are tough but this class is worth it if you dedicate the time to it.  I hope you have a ton of fun playing the game today!  Make sure to take care of these games as they were donated to the class!  As always it is great to see all of you beautiful people!  Have fun!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objectives:

  1. Analyze the role of the Continental Army, Continental Militia, British Regulars, Loyalist militia, Native Americans, French, and Hessians in the American Revolution through playing 1775: Rebellion

    1. In 1-2 Pages
      1. Double spaced, 12 point, Times New Roman font
    2. Answer the following question
      1. Who won your game?
        1. Why do you think they won?
      2. What was your initial strategy?
      3. How did your strategy change over the course of the game?
        1. What decisions did you make and why?
      4. What would you change the next time you played?
      5. How did you and your teammate work together?
      6. In what ways does the game represent the historical realities of the American Revolution?
