Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Today in class we wrapped up our viewing of the Most Dangerous Man in America documentary and had a brief discussion about the validity of leaking secret information to the public.  After we wrapped up our discussion we began our Culminating Review Project.  Please open the directions below in order to access and read them.

You will be working in a group of 4-5 people.  It is imperative that you are prepared to complete the project before Spring Break so be sure to pick people you can work with.

March 30

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Today in class we finished watching the Most Dangerous Man in America documentary.  Each class a couple of minutes left over in the documentary and we will watch those in class tomorrow.  We will also be starting our APUSH Exam Review Project, which will chronicle the entirety of U.S. history.  This project will be due April 9, you will have some class time each day to work on the project until the due date.  Come prepared to work tomorrow!

A few reminders:
  • Don't forget that your TWO Outside Reading Assignments are due before May 1
    • Must read 100 pages from two different books off this list Outside Reading List
      • If you want to read a book not on the list have it approved by me first!
  • Don't forget about the President's Quiz which must be completed before May 1
  • There is no Unit 8 or 9 Test, we will have a comprehensive Final Exam on April 30
    • This will be a practice AP Exam (55 Document based-Multiple Choice Questions, 4 Short Answer Questions, we will only do 1 essay)
  • Your Unit 8 Outside Essay is still due April 9
  • I will be holding review sessions during tutorials leading up to the AP Exam
    • Wednesday are Period Reviews, where we discuss the major events of the 9 important periods of U.S. History (This week we will discuss Period 6)
    • Fridays I will begin providing Practice Test Question Sessions
      • We will review Practice Questions and discuss best strategies for answering them effectively
      • I will only make copies of the Practice Test Questions for those who email me in advance!
We have a lot going on before the AP test on May 8, buckle down and be prepared to work ladies and gentlemen.  We will have a much more relaxed atmosphere once we have completed the AP exams.

APUSH Review

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

The AP test (believe it or not) is around the corner.  It is a good idea to begin studying for the exam.  There are a variety of resources available to you.  It is a good idea to pick up a study book to assist you in researching information and practicing for the exam.  When checking out Review books make sure you get one that is up to date with the current APUSH exam.

Remember that I am hosting a AP review session every Wednesday during tutorial (remember to email me if you want to be guaranteed a spot!).

I will be hosting some practice exams during Friday tutorials coming up as well.

If you are interested there is also the US History Crash Course series on Youtube.  I will post some of these on our blog in case you want to follow along here, starting with the ones posted below.

Today in class we took our Chapter 26 Quiz and discussed the United States in the 1950s.  We will be wrapping up our discussion on the 1950s and begin talking about the Civil Rights Movement next week.

Today in class we finished the Atomic Cafe documentary and discussed the 1940s and 50s in America as regards the new nuclear technology and the fear and panic that resulted from it.

Today in class we took our Chapter 25 Quiz and then finished watching the Hiroshima documentary.  I will collect your Hiroshima notes/answer to the 5 questions on Monday.

Don't forget that on Monday your Unit 7 Outside Essays are due as well!  We will be discussing the advent of the Atomic age on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Today in class we took our Unit 7 DBQ Test.  I also collected your Unit 7 packets.  Please make sure that you have all your Unit 7 materials turned in (except for the Unit 7 Essay due next Monday).

After the Test we continued watching the Documentary on the Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima.  Today's portion covered the actual explosion.  We will wrap up the documentary and discuss the effects of the advent of the atomic age on Thursday. 

Also don't forget that I will be holding a Review session during Tutorial tomorrow where we will be going over items from the beginning of last semester (Mostly period 1 & 2 for the AP test).  If you want to guarantee a spot for the review please email me as I will only have 35 spots available and people who reserve ahead of time get first dibs on space.

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Today in class we watched the first half of a documentary on Hiroshima.  We will be finishing that documentary as well as taking the Unit 7 DBQ test tomorrow!

Here are the primary topics that the DBQ will draw from tomorrow:
  • U.S. Foreign Policy 1920-1941
  • Great Depression & the New Deal
  • Dropping the Atomic Bomb
  • Social changes in the 1920s
Each period will have a separate DBQ, although the topics may overlap!  Come prepared and ready with your Unit 7 items available to include in your packet.

Just a quick note that I will be holding a review session for the AP exam during tutorial on Wednesday!  Come prepared to learn.  If you want to ensure a spot for you please email me ahead of Wednesday to reserve your spot.
