Happy Halloween ladies and gentlemen!

Today in class is our first in class essay exam.  You will be writing an LEQ (Long Essay Question) in 35 minutes during class time today.  We will briefly review LEQ expectations and then jump right in to getting it done!  Just breathe, the essay test is not too bad.  I hope that you have a happy and fun Halloween this evening!  I hope that you have not procrastinated too much and don't have to work on your essay this evening.  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Today in class we will be taking our Chapter 12 quiz and also discussing the presidency of Andrew Jackson.  Andrew Jackson is one of the most important and controversial presidents of the early 19th century.  He is well known by most Americans, even if they are not sure why he is famous.  And of course he is on the $20 bill (although not for much longer!)  I hope that you are all doing well and keeping up with the pace of the course!  Let's do this!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

And welcome back!  Oh wow it is so good to see you all today!  I hope that you were able to rest and not worry about school for nine days.  I was able to get some rest in, unfortunately that meant I wasn't as productive as I wanted to be.  That's ok though!  Time to get back to it!  So today we are going to briefly discuss our semester reading project (which has been posted on the side of this blog since the first day of school, but this will be our first chance to actually talk about it).  After we talk about the Outside Reading Project, you will have time to work on your 19th century reform poster.  I'm excited to jump right back into our discussions of U.S. History!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objectives:
  1. Create and original political cartoon/propaganda poster about one of the 19th century reform movements
Agenda:
  1. Intro: Outside Reading Project 
    1. Choose a book from the list provided
      1. APUSH Outside Reading List
      2. Subject must be pre-20th century (16th-19th century)
      3. May choose an alternative NON-FICTION history book (not from the list) if you get MY approval first
    2. Read a minimum of 100 pages 
    3. Complete the Outside Reading Project Form.
      1. Must be typed!
      2. Answers must be extensive, thoughtful, and demonstrate that you have in fact read the book!
    4. DUE DECEMBER 9
