  2. Respond to document based multiple choice questions and a short answer question to demonstrate knowledge on Period 1
Agenda:
  1. Warm-Up #2
  2. Quick Review: Historiography Assignment
  3. Chapter 1 Quiz (20 minute timed)
  4. Review Chapter 1 Quiz (SA Only)
  5. Study Skills: Short Answer Writing
Homework:
  1. Study for Unit 1 Test (remember that some of Chapter 2 will be on the Unit 1 Test - check out the reading pacing guide)
  2. Print Unit Pack Cover Sheet
    1. Collect all items and staple with the Cover Sheet on Top
      1. Items should be stapled in the order they appear on the Cover Sheet
  3. Print and Bring to Class Unit 2 Assignment Sheet
That's all for the day ladies and gentlemen!  I hope that everyone feels ok with your first quiz.  Don't forget to collect your unit pack for Wednesday and study for the states quiz and unit test short answers!  Take care and have a great evening!

Welcome to APUSH 2018-2019!

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!  If you signed up for APUSH, then I expect that you have a love and passion for history!  This is my favorite subject as I am an absolute passionate nut about history!  Those of you who know me, know this already!  I hope that you have a decent baseline of knowledge regarding U.S. History, but if you don't then be ready to work hard!  This class will challenge you ability to read, write, and analyze history.  I am very much looking forward to working with you all this school year!  Take care and enjoy the rest of your summer!  I look forward to meeting you all on August 15!

Live long and prosper,

Mr. Marchetti

A little about me:

I have been a history aficionado since I was young.  Starting with a love of dinosaurs and then transitioning into a passion for the 19th century American West.  I decided to become a teacher when I was in 7th grade and knew that I would one day teach history.  I went to Notre Dame de Namur University and triple majored in History, Political Science, and Religious Studies.  I immediately proceeded to work on and earn my teaching credential and started teaching in 2008.  This will be my 11th year teaching and 10th at Leland!  I am currently working on my Masters in American Military History and writing my thesis on Zachary Taylor's Army of Occupation during the Mexican-American War.  I am looking forward to finishing my thesis and completing my Masters.  I hope that you are all ready to learn some history with me!

I am also a man of many interests!  If you peruse my classroom I am sure that you will be able to figure out my interests.  I am an avid comic book reader and still go every Wednesday for New Comic Book Day.  Feel free to check out any of the comic books in the classroom and read them when you have a free moment.  I also love to play board games when I get free time with my buddies.  One of my favorites is Betrayal at House on the Hill, it has two different parts with a traitor mechanic.  I highly recommend it to anyone who likes board games!  I still play video games, although I don't have a lot of time to do so.  I recently got a Nintendo Switch and this is by far one of my favorite gaming systems ever!  There are a few games upcoming that I am looking forward to.  I am a movie nerd and go to see new movies as often as I can.  Finally I am a big fan of Science Fiction.  I have written a Military Science Fiction novel that I one day would like to publish.  I LOVE Star Trek and will share it with you all when I can.

That's just a bit about me.  I look forward to meeting you all on August 15th!
