September 30

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Today in class we will be taking a look at the reform movements that spun out of the Second Great Awakening.  You will be working on a mini reform poster, researching one of the reform movements of the era.  This is an important topic that often makes an appearance on AP Exams so definitely make sure you pay attention!  Its also super interesting and fun! : )  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objectives:
  1. Demonstrate content knowledge on the changing economy of the mid 1800s
  2. Create an original political cartoon/propaganda poster about one of the 19th century reform movements

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Today in class we will be discussing the Missouri Compromise!  Woohoo!  This is an interesting little episode in U.S. history that will help lead us down the path to the Civil War, which, with the American Revolution itself, is the most significant event in the first 100 years of U.S. history.  I'm stoked!  If we have time I still want to do the Constitution Scavenger Hunt!  Might be able to squeeze it in today ; )  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Today in class we will be taking our Unit 3 Test!  Ahhhh!  Crazy right?  It will be ok, I believe in you all!  We will wrap up our Louisiana Purchase activity before hand, then turn in the Unit Packet and take the Test.  Afterwards we will discuss Unit 4 briefly before wrapping up for the weekend.  I hope that you are all doing well.  Bit of a busy few days in this class so stay on top of everything!  You are all great!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Today in class we will be discussing the first twenty years of U.S. history under the Constitution.  I love this time period and subject!  I think it is fascinating to examine how the founders essentially created our Federal government out of almost nothing, and did so successfully.  Its so cool!  Afterwards we will be taking a look at the Louisiana Purchase through a document activity.  Don't forget we have our Unit 3 Test on Friday!  Below you will find our agenda, homework, and resources for the day.

Objectives:
  1. Discuss the issues of early American politics and the post-Constitution government
  2. Analyze primary source documents to understand the discontent of Federalists with President Thomas Jefferson
